Bubber Ducky

Bubber Ducky is a simple 3D platforming game - slide to the end of a drain pipe on a bar of soap while collecting bubbles and dodging obstacles to save the baby duck covered in oil at the bottom.
This was a project done for GSU's Global Game Jam by myself and five others in my freshman year at Georgia Tech. We had 48 hours to code a game themed around the word "bubble," and we chose to make a simple-yet-engaging game.

I did programming for the overall UI / UX of the game.

What Have I Learned?

I never fully looked into UI/UX before this game jam, and it was quite challenging to learn on the fly. Making a custom progress bar with my own graphics and intentions on how it should work made it take longer than expected. I also had never programmed cutscenes. Ensuring that my UI and my scene management would be easily implementable as a prefab to others' editing scenes was vital to the project, so it took me a little longer to compartmentalize everything. I also learned a lot about branching and the importance of keeping your own work in a folder until the very end to avoid Git merge conflicts. Shoutout to my teammates - Sophia, Rachel, Elio, Vishnu, and Jungwoo - for their hard work. We made an awesome team, and I hope we can continue Bubber Ducky in the future!
